Chisel Jersey is one of the most famous of the Somerset bittersweets. It is used to make cider, has good flavor and aroma. The juice is bittersweet and very astringent. It produces strong, rich, full-bodied, colorful cider. Fruit is green with red flesh. Tree is vigorous. Heavy but somewhat biennial bearer.
