One of the earliest American cider apples. It is absolutely one of the best cider crab apples today. It produces a clear, dry, full-bodied cider which is excellent by itself or used in a blend. Fruit is small with dark green skin mostly covered with dull, purplish red and large white dots. Flesh is firm, crisp, and quite acid in flavor. Productive tree is a good keeper
